Twelfth Night, Eighth Post: Four Cheers for Don Robinson-Gay

Dear Friends,

Yesterday, as we entered the rehearsal hall, we discovered this sign on the Company Board:

One our board members (Don Robinson-Gay) has donated four REALLY REALLY good seats for the Milwaukee Bucks game on Friday, January 4, 2008 at 7:30pm with the request that they be used by the dedicated people of “Twelfth Night.”

We will hold a drawing for these tickets.  If you are interested, please write your name on a slip of paper and put it in the envelope outside of Noel’s cubicle (near the creepy baby puppet*).  We will draw four (4) names– one (1) name per ticket at 1:00pm on Saturday, December 29.

Well. Noel held the drawing at 1pm as promised.  And YES.  I WON.  Along with Todd Denning (Antonio), Chase Stoeger (Sir Andrew Aguecheek), and Andy Truschinski (Fabian).    It’s funny: on stage, we’ll all be in a big fight together, but offstage, on Friday, January 4, 2008 at 7:30pm, we’ll all be on the same side.  GO BUCKS!

And, more importantly, GO DON ROBINSON-GAY!  Thanks so much for the tickets!

(Honey, if you’re reading this, can I go to the basketball game with the guys?)

I’ll keep you posted,

* So since I mentioned Company Manager Noel Henebury-Farmer’s “creepy baby puppet,” I realize that I have to explain.  Did you see the Milwaukee Shakes production of MacB?  The creepy baby puppet was one of the three scary apparitions.  Now it lives in Noel’s cubicle and occasionally appears, with its head spinning 360 degrees (ala The Exorcist), over the wall of Marketing Director Kristin Godfrey’s cubicle.  It’s pretty hilarious and terrifying (tellarious and hilerrifying?)  Noel says: “My office is where props go to die.”  Kristin adds: “Literally.”
